Performance Features

Performance Features

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 harnesses up to 203 horsepower from a 2.5-liter engine block. Receiving unleaded gasoline through D-4S Injection, the I-4 powertrain peaks at 184 pound-feet of torque. This 16-valve engine utilizes the latest edition of the Dynamic Force platform. Compressing fuel at a 14:0:1 ratio, this signature engine is also standard under the hood of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. When working at threshold intervals, the hybrid system delivers a combined output of 219 hp. Generating approximately 245 peak volts, a Nickel-Metal Hydride partially propels this efficient Toyota crossover SUV. Delivering 259 peak volts, a lithium-ion battery is available for the hybrid system. Rated at 118 net hp and 149 lb-ft, an electric motor drives the car's front wheels. Delivering 54 hp and 89 lb-ft, a secondary electric motor propels the vehicle's rear wheels. With a default towing capacity of 1,500 pounds, the RAV4 provides good options for transporting lightweight equipment for road trips. The hybrid model offers an additional 250 pounds of towing capability.

Handling

Handling

Employing the Dynamic Torque Vectoring design, the 2022 Toyota RAV4's all-wheel-drive system promptly responds to the road conditions. The Rear Driveline Disconnect directs all torque to the front axle in normal driving circumstances. The TV-AWD system is coupled with an eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission system, offering extra shifting options through the Sequential Shift Mode. An electronically controlled CVT system propels the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. This efficient crossover SUV rolls on the Electronic On-Demand AWD. Conveniently installed on the RAV4's center console, the Eco, Normal, and Sport modes calibrate the AWD and gearbox for enhanced performance. By pushing the Trail Mode button in the RAV4 Hybrid's center console, you will optimize off-road handling. You could also press the EV Mode button inside the hybrid model. With access to the Multi-Terrain Select, you could confidently command the RAV4 in tough conditions. The Mud & Sand Mode helps this compact Toyota model go through seemingly impassable trails. Likewise, the Rock & Dirt Mode expands your plans for off-roading. You could also press the Snow Mode button from the M-TS.
