2022 Toyota Tundra Performance

Toyota Tundra Performance

The 2022 Toyota Tundra taps into slightly less than 390 total horsepower from a 3.5-liter engine. Adopting the acclaimed i-FORCE design, this twin-turbocharged powertrain has a peak torque output of approximately 480 pound-feet. Paired with an electric motor and Nickel-Metal Hydride battery, the i-FORCE MAX powertrain pumps out slightly less than 440 net hp. Having a parallel design, this hybrid propulsion system cranks out just above 580 lb-ft. Both twin-turbo engines are mated to an automatic transmission system that makes ten gear speeds. According to SAE J2807 criteria, this light-duty Toyota pickup truck can tow a 12,000-pound trailer. You can select the Tow/Haul Mode or Tow/Haul Mode+ when pulling a trailer on the road. The Integrated Trailer Brake Controller automatically detects a compatible connection for optimum towing. This all-new model also offers a 4x4 drive system with the Multi-Terrain Select, which has several off-road modes. Designed by the FOX brand, resilient shocks are standard on the TRD Pro model. Equipped with the 18-inch Falken tires, this exclusive trim is more than ready to navigate rugged terrain. Offering three different modes for the ride height, an air suspension system is available for the 2022 Tundra. You could add the Adaptive Variable Suspension for additional comfort on any surface. Featuring integrated actuators, this innovative suspension unit quickly responds to the harshness of the road.

**Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle’s exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo. [Calculated with the new SAE J2807 method.] Installation of a tow hitch receiver or other accessories located near the rear bumper or side-door kick sensors may require disabling or removing the kick sensor, and the sensor operation setting in your vehicle should be turned off. See Owner’s Manual for limitations.
